The Nature Service
Together for Nature. Together for Wales.
The Nature Service is a nationally coordinated initiative working across Wales to support nature recovery by strengthening skills, capacity and access to opportunities.
It creates a visible, trusted identity that helps people from all backgrounds find and engage with volunteering, education, training, employment and early career pathways linked to restoring nature and responding to the climate emergency.
The Nature Service does not deliver activities directly. Instead, it works through partners as a connector, amplifier and coordinator, helping make existing opportunities more visible, accessible and joined-up across Wales.
The Nature Service links people to opportunities that already exist, whether that’s volunteering, training, education or employment. It brings organisations together so they can amplify each other’s impact and support a Wales-wide movement for a thriving, nature-rich future.
Building the skills, knowledge and capacity needed to restore nature at scale, while making pathways into nature-based training, jobs and careers more visible and accessible across Wales so that people of all backgrounds and ages can take part in restoring nature and building a thriving, climate-resilient future.
What will it do?

Building the skills, knowledge and capacity needed for future nature-based jobs and supporting the development of a skilled, paid and volunteer workforce with accessible pathways for young people beginning their careers.
Environmental recovery in response to the climate emergency
Supporting nature recovery, tackling biodiversity loss and contributing to Wales’ response to the nature and climate emergencies.
Social and wellbeing good
Empowering citizens from all backgrounds and ages to gain skills, connect with nature, improve wellbeing and strengthen community resilience.
